Our services

On our Website and with our App, we operate the PromoZilla platform (hereinafter: the "Platform"). On the Platform, we provide users with the ability to view (digital) promotional leaflets and share them via a link. This way, you stay informed about current offers and can inform others about offers. When using the Platform, your personal data may be processed.

We process data about interests of you as a user of the Website and/or the App. This data is known to us because you have indicated that certain subjects interest you interest, because you have marked certain leaflets, stores and brands as favorites or because we have deduced your interests from the way you use the Website and/or the App.

In addition to the personal data you yourself share with us (about which more below under "Account"), we may process personal data about your use of our Services. This involves the following personal data:

It is possible to create an account on the Website or in the App that creates a personal profile on the Platform. When creating an account, we request the following information, including personal data, from you:

  • First name;
  • Last name;
  • E-mail;
  • Password.

After your account is created, you can further personalize your account by entering additional information. This is not mandatory. It concerns the following additional data:

  • Zip code;
  • House number;

  • Residence.

After providing the above information, at least the mandatory information, an account will be created. We need the above mandatory data to know who you are so that an account can be created.

We keep the above data for the period your account is active or until you manually delete the data, plus a period of up to 1 month thereafter. This is because of a backup we make of this data.

Personal profile; profiling

If you create an account, we collect, analyze, and combine your personal data to create a personal profile (profiling). This allows us to estimate certain behaviors related to your preferences to provide you with personalized advertisements and/or personalized offers. This way, we can offer you a service that closely matches your needs.

We have a legitimate interest in processing this personal data, namely to better tailor the service to you. You can object to this processing of your personal data by using the contact details provided at the bottom of this privacy and cookie statement.

You can give your consent in your account. The newsletter contains news, tips, and information about our services. The weekend deals are special offers available from our providers during the weekend.

Facebook is based outside the European Union, specifically in the United States. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of Facebook.

Statistics: Google Analytics

We keep track of statistics about our Website and App.

We use Google Analytics to monitor how visitors use our Website and App. To use this service, cookies may be placed. These cookies are placed by Google Inc. The information obtained through the cookie (including your IP address) may be transferred by Google to servers in the United States. We have requested Google to anonymize your IP address. This means that when using Google Analytics, your IP address is anonymized by Google as soon as technically possible, at the earliest possible stage in the collection network. The IP anonymization feature in Google Analytics sets the last byte of IPv4 IP addresses and the last 80 bits of IPv6 addresses to zeros in memory shortly after they are sent to the Google Analytics collection network. In this case, the full IP address is never stored on the hard drive.

We recommend that you read Google's privacy policy here.

Cookies

Our Website uses cookies. Cookies are small files in which we can store information so that you don't have to enter it repeatedly. We can also use them to recognize when you visit us again.

We have agreements with companies that place cookies regarding their use. However, we do not have full control over what they do with the cookies themselves. Therefore, please also read their privacy statements.

We recommend that you read Google's privacy policy here.

We place the following types of cookies:

Functional cookies
We place some cookies for functional purposes, such as for the Content Management System we use and to keep track of your session.

Analytical cookies
We also place cookies for analytical purposes. These are the Google cookies mentioned above for Google Analytics. Read more about this under the heading: "Google Analytics."

Social media cookies
We also use social media buttons. In doing so, the respective social media platforms place cookies. Read more about this under the heading: "Social Media Buttons."

Retention periods

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary. If your personal data is no longer needed to provide the service to you, we will delete your personal data.

However, if there is a legal obligation that requires us to retain your personal data, we must comply with that legal obligation. This could involve, for example, the tax retention obligation: if your personal data is relevant for tax purposes, we are required to retain that personal data for seven years.

Security

The security of your personal data is very important to us. We ensure that your data is well-protected with us. We continuously adapt our security measures and carefully monitor potential risks.

We ensure that only necessary personnel have access to your personal data, that access is secured, and that our security measures are regularly checked and evaluated. Among other things, we implement the following security measures:

Disclosure to third parties

In providing our services, we collaborate with third parties. They assist us in delivering the service tailored to your needs. We may share your personal data with these third parties. We make clear agreements with these third parties about the careful handling of your personal data. These third parties may include affiliated companies, affiliates, and clients.

With some of these third parties, we share only anonymous information about the use of the Website and App. We use generic user data to conduct usage analyses and create statistics on user interests. This data is shared only in aggregated form and cannot be traced back to an individual, thus it is not considered personal data.

We do not disclose your personal data to other parties outside of those mentioned in this privacy and cookie statement, unless it is necessary for our services or if we are legally required to do so (for example, if required by the police in the case of a suspected crime). We will inform you about which (categories of) parties receive your personal data from us.
